Proposed Hawthorn Pit Solar Farm

Aura Power is proposing to develop a solar farm between Murton and South Hetton, public consultation is ongoing this is just to make Murton Residents aware of the scale of the project and proximity to our houses.

Propose to locate on South West land of Murton Village which will have huge visual impact on our landscape 8 x size of our Welfare Park and 3 metres high.

More information can be found on website: www.aurapower.co.uk/hawthornpit-solar-farm

Please have a look and pass comment and be aware of proposal before planning application is submitted in summer.

Murton Parish Council understands that we are in climate emergency and solar energy plays an important role in reducing carbon emissions but concerns have been raised by Councillors and residents alike which we have taken to Aura Power for answers.
